Here are some of the inhabitants of my tank. Not all of them have been photographed yet, but most are here. This is the cast of characters:
Bob the Blenny - Bob is pretty energetic but has a nasty habit of rearranging the sand in front of the tank in track pattern. He is so ugly, that he is cute. This is Bob's favorite perch.
Bob also likes sleeping inside the oyster shell. When he was smaller, he could fit into the small shell in back, but alas, he is getting fat.
Here is Curly, named after the three stooges. Curly is a watchman goby and does a very good job at that. Since this tank is in my living room, I can't count the number of times I have turned to see him watching me watch TV.
This is Bubba. Bubba is a Hippo Tang and lives up to his name of a hippo. He once got stuck in some rock, he went in head first instead of backing in. Took a bit of doing to free him up, now he backs in to stay the night. Sometimes I can see his yellow tail sticking out through the opening in the face of the rock. If you are interested, take a look at the photo of the tank head on and notice the large flattish rock in the upper right hand corner. He sleeps in a crevice in the back of that rock and his tail can be visible from the front. Odd fish, but entertaining.
Another of Bubba..
Family photo.. Bubba and Curly.
Frick and Frack are my two cleaner shrimps. These two characters spend the day picking at the fish and their nights picking over the rocks. They have their "cleaning" station setup in the back rear of the tank under the mushroom/caulerpa rock. When a fish is interested, they will gang up (one on each side) and do their thing until the fish swims away.
Another of the cleaning duo...
Here is "Thug" for lack of a better name. He is fairly aggressive, but Bubba handles him fairly well. Thug is a Purple Red Sea Tang. He may be finding a new home when he grows up if his attitude doesn't change.
Here is a photo of my reclusive Fire Shrimp, Barney. Barney makes his home next door to Bubba but rarely comes out. It takes a little looking, but he is the red with white legs image.
This is Psycho. He is a Mandarin Dragonet. He is quite colorful and is really mellow. He spends most of his day picking pods off the rocks and his nights sleeping in a cove behind the Oyster Shells.
Here are some of my other animals, though none have earned a name as of yet.
